Happy 27 of March to our sweet Pink Granddaughter, Avery .... She will be 4 ............

Well, it is almost spring. We can't wait. On the 2 days that it has been 50* we have been happy campers. We went over the ward list again with the Elders and the mission leader from the Ward. So now we have about 25 more people to find, make cinnamon rolls find a time we can go to their homes and meet them.

We also realize that this is also the time of the year for the pinewood derby. What an exciting time that is for the boys, and their families. So this is for the cub scouts in the family and their Dad's who work with them.

We have had a pretty good week. But there have been several days that we have been totally rejected. The above cartoon seems to indicate how we feel , trying to f igure out what is wrong with us. Although we know it is not us, the problem is in the less active. it does make one wonder.

The girl in the yellow and the baby her sister is holding came to church on sunday.
We went to visit ask them to come to church. We told them that we had come by about 5 times and they weren't home. We had been trying to bring them cinnamon rolls. They said they were always there , I said "Not" but I would make them a deal, I bring you cinnamon rolls if you will come to church. They agreed , but only the one sister came.
At the end of the meetings she told me she learned something new --actually several things, but the main one was that "she was loved" . The ward really were great and greeted her so well.
The tender mercies of the Lord. love you all

So I have to apologize again to all of you for giving you the wrong impression . I like I usually do made a snap judgement by appearance only. This is my "Red Neck " house . Today we got into to see them and yes the house is still the same but they were very normal , not "redneck" at like I had imagined. Someday i will learn . I guess that is why I get to do so many things over and over again.

Here are Terry and Birdie(Roberta) Dill.

Well , today we thought we had little to do. We were feeling like we didn't know what to do to help the work along. We still don't know what we are doing... but the visits we had felt better than at least I expected.
Two really great families . One that is active and the other not. But they know ... and agreed to come to church if I made cinnamon rolls for them. So tomorrow there are cinnamon rolls. We'll see
how well the incentive plan works. Heavenly Father 's incentive plan works for me so maybe our little effort will go somewhere for them.

Just want ed you to know that we have had prayers answered. Keep praying for us. We love you all and miss you much. more than you know

Good Morning, We have had a mixed bag of experiences lately. Monday , we went out to find some of the members we have been looking for. Have gone to those addresses more than once. This time we found that one lady had moved and her trailer is now rented. THe other house we can't find still , but we did stop at a house to ask questions, the man that came to the door, told Elder Slade that his wife had passed in the last couple of years. Lately he has had a dream of a women and a little boy in bib overalls coming to him. He said he was afraid to tell too many people for fear they would not believe him . H e is having some kind of surgery and will be available for us to return and visit with. We found another person; that seemed genuinely interested in our visit . said he would come to church and was glad for us to find the people of the Purdue YSA ward for them to associate with .
Then yesterday we had an appointment with a less active family, at 6:30 went to the door and no one answered. We called the cell number that we had and the girl told us her Mother had told her that we weren't coming so she left. Talk about discouragement .
I have wondered how the Prophets must have felt and how hard it was for them to be rejected, shot at, and then burned at the stake.
At least we haven't been shot at (yet) and there has been no burning .
We were told yesterday that several years ago this ward had a visit from the Stake Presidency on an individual basis as to what the problem was with this ward. There are alot of sensitivities . We are trying to keep our heads up and the rain and wind to our back .
Will check with you all later.

We go for walks around the neighborhood every couple of days. This is what we see. It will beautiful in the spring , summer and fall. Many trees. !!!!!!!!I will bet that the leaves are every where in the fall. We enjoy the time together. We meet some of the neighbors.

The housing changes as we walk ...........

Nice yards with nice houses. I think the kids would have a ball with all the trees here.

Returning home by way of the back yard as we were too tired to walk all the way around . Note Our car in the middle of the parking lot.

We have had some very nice experiences the last few days . Either We are hitting our stride or we finally are listening to the spirit. We have found and talked to a couple of families that seem to be right there as far as reactivity is concerned. Besides the other day we were looking for an address and couldn't find it. We knocked on a door and found a gentleman whose wife has passed. He has had dream and wondered of we thought it was strange. He is going to be gone for 2 weeks and we will go back to meet with him. We also found 2 ysa that we are making arrangements for them to go to the YSA activities at PUrdue . Prayers are answered. lov eyou all

This is Patrick Hill, he lives in a group home here in Logansport.
I was trying to help him find something he would like to do.
but since I was there last he has taught himself to do a crochet chain stitch. \
He is making an afghan . So we just visited and then left him to finish his
project /.

We have been trying to make contact with this girl. We finally found that she worked at Walgreens in Rochester, so we went there to set an appointment. We went to her home last Friday. She is wonderful, her eyes are so clear, her countenance is beautiful and her baby is such a cutie. We are hoping to be their hometeachers, so we can get aquainted to the husband so that he will be willing to listen to the gospel and they can be active. It was a very nice day meeting her.
