I know that it seems that I am obsessed with yellow cars.
I guess I am, this is a collection of yellow cars I say just yesterday
while we were out. There is one truck in town that is yellow and
has a large yellow fin on the back.

I am just amazed at the numbers. I went the other day to get some
lab work done and the lady at the lab had on a cute yellow pair of
scrubs. I commented that she was trying to be a sunny place in the dreary
ness of the weather . She said that she loves yellow , she even had a yellow
car. Who knew. Amazing

Have a great yellow day....

There is a Sister in our Ward whose nickname is "BOO" !!!!!!!
Everyone calls her by that name. I asked her why, she said it is because she was born on 31 Oct. I think it is cute , she is a very nice woman. So here is "BOO"

The Work is very tiring . With pen in hand we still get the work done/

Some days are just like this ... we need an extra boost, besides it snowed again. I would include a picture of the snow but since I've posted alot of snow pictures I am sure you know what snow looks like. We are off to see the wizards in Delphi. We actually have an appt. if they don''t cancel. We will met another member. wish us luck or a miracle.

My companion doesn't look like this he is much cuter, but sometimes we feel like this. Mostly we feel glad to be together but like we may have developed the plague, as no one wants to talk to us.

Today , we went to La Fayette to a Stake fireside. It was a missionary fireside for Aaronic Priesthood holders and their parents and YM leaders. the young Elders were invited to come
to be a presence there. It was a wonderful fireside. They had some men tell how they knew they should go, some experiences on their missions, one man told how he convinced the Purdue coach to hold his scholarship for him while he served and returned... and then at the end they had given the young men a card with 5 things they needed to do to prepare and sign, then if they felt they could commit tonight they were given a gold medallion from the stake as a confirmation of their commitment . It was a very nice meeting. Great stories.

We expect that our Elders will one or the other or both be transferred this week. We don't expect to be transferred, as we think the Lord wants us to stay together and continue our relationship. He thinks it may take us an Eternity to learn together.

We have a full week ahead . will post pictures in a day or two.

This was our district meeting with the zone leaders . l-r my head, Elder Nelson, Sister Mat, Elders Crouch, Matthews, Eames, Slade , and on the floor Sister Humphries , Elder Cubic and Elder Sterling laying down on the job.

On a more mature note here we all are again. Transfers are next week so we may not see some of them again. Sad because they are all good Elders.

On the other hand here is our off day pictures. We know who is holding the camera ,,, much to my dismay .

Of course we use our time wisely while doing the laundry. We are great at multitasking.

This is what we get to look at if we are out after 6 pm. It is beautiful. They have a lot of trees. It must be beautiful in the summer. However I will bet that the fall is a challenge to keep the leaves raked up.
We have had a very successful week . We had lunch with a member, her daughter and her Father . That was nice. Then we got into a home that we have been praying about. The sister was by herself. She is so pleasant. hopefully they will be touched by the spirit again and start back.

We found these guys home, but they were busy eating and didn't have time for a visit. They were not even very friendly . No smiles .
This is the Church parking lot if it gives you any idea of the amount of snow we have had, It is warmer today so water is dripping off the apt. roof.

We have however been in the kind of country Elder Slade likes so we took a picture of these huge silos.
Toodles , We have a busy week ahead so it may be next Sunday . Have to go pop popcorn so I can make carmel and take it to the district meeting on tues. We will be gone all day Monday .

Love you all,

We have been to zone conference all day!! It is fun to go and watch the young Elders . The group in our zone seem so mature, insightful and they are alot of fun. The 2 that are assigned to Logansport with us are sure great. They are the district leaders. Very dedicated.

We are having dinner this Friday night with the mission President and his Wife. They are driving up to see our place and take us to dinner. Elder Slade thinks he is trying to be nice to us so we will want to stay past our year. He is always suspicious. I on the other hand think they are just coming because we are so awesome. Maybe we are both right . lol

We are having insights into what we are doing . We are trimming up the ward list. Making it more manageable. There is one man in Royal Center that is now a minister of another church. We stopped to met him, but the young lady at the door told us "no offense, but he is a minister of another church, I don't think he is interested" . So we planned to go back so he could tell us himself. Yesterday we went by---again, I called him to see if we could stop by... (and his last name is Mangum-- My great grandmother was a Mangum) I said we wanted to meet him and that I was related to Mangums' and wanted to talk about family history.
He was busy and said we could come back again sometime. I am thinking of writing him a letter and saying that we realize he is now a minister of another church, but if he wants to not have visits from the Church he will have to let us know, otherwise someone would check on him from time to time .

And that It hurts my heart that he doesn't feel that same spirit that he felt when he joined the church. I will ask him to contact us and we would come back and visit with him. I don't know I don't understand how people can get so far away, once they have felt the truth and the spirit.

this is very frustrating work

Yesterday , we had district meeting. It was supposed to be held on Tuesday but the cars were grounded due to the storm, so it was moved to Wednesday, again the cars were grounded and moved to Thursday.
By Thursday our district leader , Elder Eames , was frustrated , 1st it was on then it was off and then back on again. The location changed and was back on. Everyone except the missionaries in that town were late, because of the late notice.
In spite of the frustrations , the meeting was very good. Encouraging us to learn to teach with the spirit. Knowing the lessons well enough to not get flustered and being able to be inspired. There are some sharp Elders in this mission(sisters also )
We have a busy day scheduled so will write more later.

This area has more yellow cars than any where I have ever seen. In the past two days I have seen 6 took pictures of 4. Dad thinks I am crazy but I think it is funny that there are so many. Besides it is about the only color we've seen since we got here. Other than some lovely deep purple front porches. This is just an example. One of the ones we've seen belongs to our landlords property manager.
We think they choose yellow is so they can find the car in the snow bank. We are getting a snow storm now, turns to an ice storm, they are e xpecting about 18 inches. with a hope that the power doesn't go out.

We 'll dig out later and update the blog when we can. Otherwise we are hole up in our apt. preparing to teach our 1st discussion on Sat. night.
