This was one of the highlights of our trip home. We were able to experience a session in the Nauvoo Temple on Saturday the 18th of Oct. We then crossed some very (non treed) areas of the country. No more rumpled hills of Vermont. .Only the ups and downs of the cactus hills in Arizona .

We were able to be in the Phoenix area with 3 of our children and their children.

The little baby in the pumpkin outfit was at their ward Trunk or Treat party. I loved the costume and the lower picture I was trying out my night photo thing;y on my camera. I have been trying to learn to use all the features of my camera.

Ok this is the story of this mouse. On our way out to our mission we left our long sewer hose at a RV Park. So when we got to Palmyra we needed a new one. So Elder Slade and our friend Jerry went to a RV supply place and bought some coiled sewer pipe. It was in boxes. They bought them came back put them in the trailer and we left for the day of activities. In the evening we were sitting watching the movie "Emma", when all at once Elder Slade jumped up and began stomping the floor. I had seen a little black thing go across the floor. So I thought he was stomping a bug. Well , when it was all over it turned out to be a little field mouse. After the chaos of this little visitor we went back to the movie. Then Elder Slade and I saw another little visitor run across the floor. AGain more stomping and screaming. ELder Slade saying let me get it. We checked the trash can to see if the 1st one was not really dead. He was still hanging out in the trash can. NOW WE HAVE TWO>!!!!!!!!!!! As we ponder how they got into the trailer we decide they came in the boxes. Because we had no problem with mice while in Vermont.

The next night while we were getting ready for bed ,our friends were in the main living room getting ready for bed ...when all at once we hear stomping and furniture moving. Elder Slade ran to see ---ANOTHER MOUSE----NOW WE ARE really jumpy. the men began to check under all the furniture and cupboards. I guess we got them all because there has been no more citings. We washed all the rugs and cleaned like mad people. NO MORE mice.

I seem to attract mice. We have had 2 houses where mice have chosen to visit. ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We left the Memorial on the 11th of Oct. This is our last view of that wonderful place. We had a hard time leaving the friendships that we found there. Such great missionaries and guests that come to visit.

Here we are at the Sacred Grove.
Our friends from Arizona came out to go back with us through the church history sites. We have had a good time and certainly felt the spirit of each site. It is amazing how each missionary feels the spirit of their assignment.

Here we are at the Palmyra Temple, it was a great time.
Then of course we had our trusty older model GPS at work. We only had to make 3 U turns a day to get where we wanted to go.

Niagra Falls, then on to Kirtland

Our grandkids (some of them) got to come and visit this weekend. What a good time we had. It was the first time they had seen fall colors and played in the leaves. It was colder than we would have liked but we still had alot of fun.

Every thing is going so fast, the visit , our time here ... the speed of light>???

We look forward to seeing all of our grandchildren in the next month. We have one new one we haven't seem yet. We are anxious to hug and hold them all.
