Since we started in the office there have been 4 accidents. The Fleet Coordinators prior to Elder Slade had one in a blue moon. The cost of all the accidents could have bought a new car for the Mission. So the new '''''''fleet coordinator ' is looking for a more economical drive. This one we tested today would require that the JC would always be the look out for the driver. {no longer just when backing }, His further responsibility would be to be sure that no one rear ends them . You will note that very little gas is needed and the need for 4 new tires would be eliminated all together .

I don't remember if I showed you these pictures of the office after my urge to change it all around. I like it alot better , however Elder Slade was not overly impressed.

Here he is getting to know the office files and computers. He gave a part at a Zone Leaders training today and evidently President was very impressed with what he did.

When we 1st got here in Aug. I was having alot of edema, so we went to the ER so that my paranoid self could be sure it was not a clot. The poor nurse, tried to get a vein for an IV
The 1st try didn't work ,neither did the 2nd or the 3rd. Finally the 4th where I always get an IV was the one that worked. In the mean time I looked like I 'd really been in a fight .
Besides that I felt dumb because after all I was dehydrated and that was the problem . I guess they thought they would keep me over night but changed their minds and sent me home .

Such a fun time with the grandkids

We were able to go to Wisconsin

to see our 2 grand children and Brittany. We stayed at Brittany's parents home and had a great time. They were so kind to us, fed us Brotts{sp} , and the most delicious custard. We enjoyed time with the kids and Brittany, went to the Jelly Belly factory. so fun....

This is the office of Sister Findley she is the financial secretary. The next pictuer is of the assistants sitting in our office doing their work. Elder Downey and Elder Bronk{front}. Elder Bronk has since gone home because we had transfers and new missionaries come and go the week after we got here.
The Next picture is of Sister Parker , she is from Utah and is the front desk secretary. There is so much to do I never knew .

We have been transferred. We will now be in the office in Carmel {suburb of Indy} as of Tuesday. We are in a state of chaos, We have 4 people coming to church today. We are excited that they have committed.
Elder Slade will be the "Car Czar" and I will be doing referrals , baptisms and helping keep the "car czar" organized. We are excited to be there thru the end of our mission. We have loved the assignment to Lafayette. What a beautiful town and people.

I have to tell you this story. It just goes to show you how important it is not to get your feelings hurt.
We have an older lady in this ward, {she is 82}. She was telling us about her experience when investigating the church.
They were looking for a church, He had been studying to be a minister. They went to the building . They were walking down the hall when someone asked if they could help them. We they found out where they lived and what they were doing there. The individual then told them " You can't be here now. It is n't your time.
They were surprised , but they went home and came back at the appointed time for their Ward. They eventually joined the church --- raised children and have served a mission. He is gone now and she is living with her granddaughter .. Amazing that anyone would tell them they couldn't be there.

I am always amazed at the audacity of some.
